The University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) Law Club and Department of Law jointly celebrated Eid Reunion and the beginning of Bengali New Year at the institution’s on-campus Open Gallery last Thursday.
At the programme, the newly formed committee officially took responsibility for the Law Club, read a press release.
UITS Vice-Chancellor Md Abu Hashan Bhuiyan; Treasurer Prof Siraj Uddin Ahmed; Faculty of Law Dean Adv Md Abdul Mannan Bhuyean; and law department Head (acting) Rehnuma Chowdhury participated in the event along with many teachers and students.
On the occasion, Bhuiyan said, “Eid is a key part of our religious culture, and the celebration of the Bengali New Year is local culture. Although Eid and New Year belong to two different cultures, these celebrations give us an idea about humanity and how life goes on.”
He also congratulated the newly formed committee of the Law Club.
Besides, Md Abdul Mannan Bhuyean was greeted with flowers for serving two decades as a lawyer of the High Court Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court. The students also organised a cultural programme on the occasions.
