Last night’s 2024 NFL Draft saw a talent-starved league making a historic run on quarterbacks, tying the record for most QBs selected within the first twelve picks, with six. Chicago, D.C., New England, Atlanta, Denver and Minnesota all picked up exciting quarterback talent; but where some teams zig, the New York Jets zag.
The Jets (apparently) already have a healthy quarterback. Who needs a backup? Instead, after swapping first-round selection positions with Minnesota, the Jets used their No. 11 overall pick to snatch up Olu Fashanu, an Offensive Tackle out of Penn State.
At 6′ 6″ and 315 pounds, the Jets head office hopes that Fashanu adds a layer of protection to their O-line, ensuring protection for the team’s injury and gaffe-prone quarterback, Aaron Rodgers.
