Earlier this month the Planning Inspectorate approved plans by Ineos to carry out exploratory drilling on privately-owned land off Bramley Moor Lane. This was despite strong opposition from Derbyshire County Council and the Eckington Against Fracking group.
Anyone with any information about yesterday's incident should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting reference number 18000412087.
