North Wisconsin 'Mega Farm' Poses Health Risks

HOLWAY TOWNSHIP, Wis.
   Our Creator gave mankind the responsibility to maintain the sustainability of our land.  The proposed mega farm known as “North Breeze Dairy” in the township of Little Black in Taylor County, Wisconsin is causing very real concern in the communities, not only of Little Black, but the surrounding townships and counties as well.  It has the possibility of entirely eliminating Pine Creek, that has supplied running water that flows into the Black River and eventually, the Mississippi and had, at one time, floated logs to a sawmill adjacent to the Holway Town Hall.

   We have to look back at history to see the results of this type of irresponsible actions during the Dust Bowl Era.  The fracking in the oil fields is suspected of causing earthquakes and sinkholes.  Commonsense should indicate when you have a mass (earth) and interfere with the inner workings,  it will have an effect on the whole of it.  

   The deep water wells needed for the amount of water to supply this project is also subject to unknown consequences.  The solid concrete manure pits are also “unsustainable.”  The 100 acres purchased for this operation will not contain this manure and will be spread on approximately 5,400 additional acres.  The air and water quality will be affected as well.
